My Riddle

Mystical Bubble gave me the idea.

1) If you remove the first letter, it sounds like a type of bird.

4) If you remove the first four letters, it is one of the most powerful West Saxon Rulers in the 7th century.

No, not pure at alll I didn't make any typo, I meant to say there there are 5 blanks and 1 letter filled in for you.

I tried hard, but dude!! Its way too tough! or perhaps the instructions aren't well explained.
